S2 assembly – Teenage Cancer Trust
On Friday 24th of March, S2 will receive a presentation from Teenage Cancer Trust from 9.35-10.30am. Please could p2 teachers bring their S2 class to the hall once registered at the start of period 2. If any pupil is concerned about the assembly focus, please discuss with your PSL. Thanks
Creativity Competition (all years)
The annual Firrhill Creativity Competition is now open for entries. All years’ groups can submit pieces from poetry to short stories to paintings to songs. The list is endless! Prizes include stationery, vouchers and the Firrhill Shields for Creativity. See posters around the school for more details or ask any of your teachers.

Athlete Support Programme
All S3-6 pupils on the Athlete Support Programme are invited to attend the rescheduled presentation about sporting scholarships in the USA on Wednesday 22nd March period 3 in the PE classroom. This is an opportunity to hear about opportunities to study abroad and to speak to an expert in the field. If any other pupils would to attend this presentation they should speak to Miss McCaig or Miss Carmichael. Thanks
WWF Earth Hour Saturday 25th March 2017 8.30pm
WWF’s Earth Hour is an annual global movement where millions of people across the planet join businesses and landmarks in switching off their lights for one hour to show they care about the future of our planet. It’s been the hottest year on record for the third year in a row and nearly 1 in 6 species are now at risk of extinction from climate change. Vision Aid Overseas (VAO)
Please donate your unwanted glasses and sunglasses (prescription or regular) for reuse or recycling by VAO. It is a great opportunity to help people in Africa to be able to see by having eye tests and matching prescriptions. Please put your unwanted glasses in the box at reception – this small act will change someone’s life. Thankyou

Scholastic leaflets for this Book Club are available from the LRC or the English Department. Students may use World Book Day tokens to take £1 off the cost of any titles ordered. Please have orders and money in to the LRC by Friday 24 March. Thank you.
