S1 / 2 pupils – Sponsored Walk
A reminder to all pupils that sponsor forms were due to be returned to your group tutors by Fri 21 April. If you have not yet handed your form in, please do so asap. If you have lost your form, please see Mr Owen for another one. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY MONEY INTO SCHOOL UNTIL AFTER THE WALK.

Could ALL pupils going on the S1 Paris trip please attend a meeting in Miss Howells’ room (ML2) on Thursday 27th April at 13.15. All pupils must attend. If you are unable to make the meeting, please let Miss Howells know as soon as possible.

will be having a stall at break time on Monday 24th April, in the concourse, selling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for £1. The proceeds will be going to Help for Heroes

Iceland Geography Trip 2017
A reminder that there is a meeting for all parents of pupils and pupils going on the Iceland Geography trip. It is in the Firrhill school hall at 7pm on Tuesday 25th April. It should last no more than 30 minutes.

Creativity Competition (all years)
The deadlines for submissions has been extended to Friday 28th April. Remember, you can submit practically anything. So far, we’ve had poetry, short stories and artwork. Bring submissions to Mr Waddell.

S5 & S6 – Locker key returns
Please empty your locker and return your key to the library at 1pm on Wednesday 26th April to collect your £5 deposit. Lockers for new S6 pupils will be allocated in June. Thank you.

For S5 pupils – Science Insights 2017
• Are you currently in S5 & enthusiastic about research in biological sciences?
• Thinking about science as a university course/career?
• Would you like some invaluable insights to help with your career exploration?
Science Insights is an exciting work experience programme from the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.
It runs from Monday 24th to Friday 28th July 2017.
Activities will include:
• Shadowing researchers in the workplace
• Tours of a range of scientific facilities
• Presentations, workshops and discussions on topics including research ethics, the use of animals in research and careers in science
• Opportunities to meet current University of Edinburgh students
• Skills session to help with future university & job applications
