The 2015 session has just commenced at Firrhill High School, and it is essential for the continuing success of FHS that the partnership between parents and the school is not only maintained but continues to flourish.
The role of the Parent Council is to support the school in its endeavour to constantly improve.
To achieve this, the Parent Council meets once a term to be informed of and discuss school business and strategy.
The structure of the Parent Council can be seen on this website along with the associated Working Groups, who meet on a more regular basis. Take the time to explore the Parents section of the website: Parents of Firrhill.
The AGM for both the PTA, which actively fund raises for the school and the Parent Council will be held in the school library on Monday 7th September at 7pm.
The first meeting of the Parent Council will take place immediately afterwards.
I would urge new parents in particular to consider giving up some of your valuable time to either of these deserving causes given that several positions are currently vacant.
This is just one of the opportunities were you can give something back to the school.
If you are interested in any way, please attend the AGM and the Parent Council. As a parent or guardian of a child at Firrhill your voice is very important – the Parent Council is a great way to get your voice heard.
